This artwork was created in 2026 and is based on the idea of perception and presence. The image shows a single figure – represented entirely through color. I experimented with various pixel sizes, from a single pixel to 800 pixels, gradually revealing the figure.
At the very first pixel, all you see is a blur of color – a mix of red and light blue – and the figure is completely invisible. As you spend more time looking, as the resolution increases, the figure slowly emerges from the colors.
This reflects how we perceive people in life. At first glance, we might not see someone fully, only a blur, a shadow of who they are. But as we take the time to look closer, as we pay attention, the details become visible, and the person – their presence, their essence – emerges.
Through this piece, I explore how attention and perception shape understanding. The gradual reveal of color and figure – from one pixel to full resolution – symbolizes discovery, presence, and the way we come to see and understand someone more deeply over time.
